ABUJA (Code of Conduct Tribunal Report) –
The Code of Conduct Tribunal has on Wednesday May 14, 2014 hosted the anti-corruption agencies’ routine meetings under the coordination of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Control (UNODC) to help in creating the synergy with stakeholders towards uplifting the fight against corruption in Nigeria.
Danladi Umar indicated that every organization has its peculiar constraints as everyone has peculiar problems – the EFCC, ICPC, CCB, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Police Affairs.
He affirmed that it is through this meeting that stakeholders would be able to know their specific challenges, exchange views and be able to agree and recommend to government the suggestions that can address issues towards effective performance.
The Chairman, while expressing gratitude to the European Union for their support to the Tribunal which was implemented by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Control (UNODC) through the establishment of an e-library furnished with laptops, desktops and the provision of a Hilux Van as well as a mobile registry for logistic activities, noted that this would assist in combating corruption in the country.
