Federal Government has revealed that it is working on a policy that will get rid of the ownership of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, LPG, cylinders from consumers.
Speaking recently on LPG penetration in Abuja, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu revealed that the policy would need the ownership of the cylinders to rest solely with the dealers and distributors, as it is a plan to ensure LPG reaches every corner of the market.
Ibe revealed that FG had reached an agreement with two legit cylinder manufacturers to bring 600,000 cylinders to LPG distributors on credit, with a pre-payment period of 18 months.
Ibe also said that FG will soon begin to discipline illegal roadside LPG dealers.
