The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Ekiti State has distanced itself from calls by some members of the party for the suspension of Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, the party’s national leader and its presidential candidate in the 2023 general election.
Fatomilola Oladosun, the party’s candidate for governor in the 2022 election, and Motunde Fajuyi, Ade Ayeni, and Samuel Olofin, the party’s candidates for senator in the 2023 election, made this announcement in a press statement on Monday. Prince Ade-Ajayi, the party’s South West zonal financial secretary, also put his name on the document.
According to the parties involved, the call was issued by an unofficial organization without the proper authorization, and the party’s state executives have subsequently been dissolved by the national headquarters under the leadership of acting chairman Alhaji Abba Kawu-Ali.

The party’s accomplishments in the 2023 general election were attributed in large part to the presidential candidate’s selfless devotion and leadership, and the party’s members reaffirmed their loyalty to him.
“We hereby dissociate the Ekiti State chapter of NNPP from such illegal and obnoxious moves,” the group said. Such behavior should be disregarded, as the actors involved are neither authorized nor qualified to speak for the Ekiti party’s true members.
To call for the resignation and suspension of our dear success icon and great National Party leader, H.E. Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, we today make bold to declare that NNPP Ekiti State does not have any chairman in place for now.
Since “no Ekiti NNPP stakeholder and member is part of such unpopular, unacceptable, and selfish moves by disgruntled elements who were either suspended or reprimanded for their shortcomings in one way or the other,” the statement urges readers to view the illegal call as an attempt to disrupt the party’s unity and harmony and resurrect the discredited failure of the past.
“Anyone who claims to support such moves on behalf of the NNPP in Ekiti State is on his own, not representing us; such a person or persons is not known to our party, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ekiti State.
They are opposed to the plans for the party’s future progress. Corruption is pushing back, and that’s the problem.
