The Ekiti State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Ebenezer Boluwade, has called upon the ministry’s staff to increase their efforts to ensure the fulfillment of the ministry’s objectives in the new year.
Addressing the management and staff of the ministry in Ado-Ekiti during their first meeting in 2024, Boluwade emphasized a target of at least 70% work completion for the ministry in the year.
He stressed the need for each department to align its work plan with the specified timeframe.

The commissioner underscored the importance of timely completion of assignments, setting a deadline of 24 hours for most tasks, unless otherwise specified, to enable the ministry to achieve its goals.
Boluwade advised the staff to work collaboratively as a team and emphasized the prompt handling of all files, regardless of their volume, within 24 hours of receipt.
He also assured the staff that plans were underway to launch an agriculture website during the year.
This platform aims to inform the people of Ekiti about the ministry’s agricultural initiatives and the opportunities available for them to benefit from.
In response, the permanent secretary of the ministry, Olugbenga Odesanmi, provided guidance to the staff on achieving success, including conducting a performance review of past works.
During the meeting, some officers highlighted challenges such as outdated office equipment (desktops, laptops, and printers) and a shortage of utility vehicles for field operations. Boluwade assured them that these issues would be addressed in due course.
The commissioner’s call to action sets the tone for the ministry’s efforts in the new year, emphasizing efficiency and collaboration to achieve their objectives.
