The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate for February election, General Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, said that his party would block any avenue that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may use to rig elections in February.

Buhari, who spoke through his Chief of Staff, Colonel Hamid Ali (retd), who represented him at a meeting with Buhari Support Groups, said “we will ensure that our supporters send text of the results to us on the election day. We will make sure the PDP is not allowed to rig. We must shine our eyes.”

The APC presidential candidate’s aide also seized the opportunity to deny media reports that some Arab countries were donating money to his principal’s campaign ahead the elections. “It is not true. I am part of it, I am in the centre of it and I don’t know of any Arab man that has spoken to us, so, it is untrue, it is false.”

He explained that the organisation has however raised money through its fund-raising efforts, tagged: “Buhari Crowding Funding Initiative,” which has been able to raise a total sum of N119 million. Breaking this down, he said that the sum of N54 million was realised as of December 24, 2014, while an additional N64,702,265.36 was contributed to the fund as of Wednesday.

According to him, the interactive session was organised to examine the challenges being encountered by the support groups in the fields and how best to synergise to achieve their target of installing an APC government at the centre.
