As the Ondo State gubernatorial election draws near, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has called on the people of the state to vote massively for the party.
Ganduje made the appeal on Monday while inaugurating a 305-member national campaign council for the November 16 governorship election.
He urged voters to support the APC, emphasizing that casting their votes for the ruling party would honor President Bola Tinubu, who hails from the region.
InfoStride News reports that the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will chair the campaign council, with Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris and Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu serving as Deputy Chairmen 1 and 2, respectively. Senator Ovie Omo-Agege was appointed Secretary of the council.
During the inauguration held in Akure, Ganduje stressed the importance of collaboration between the national and local campaign councils to secure victory for the APC.
“I now hand over the working instruments to the chairman.
This campaign council will coordinate closely with the local campaign council, creating strong synergy to achieve success,” Ganduje stated.
He further highlighted President Tinubu’s efforts to reform the nation’s social and economic sectors and called on the people of Ondo to reciprocate by voting for the APC.
“The President is implementing reforms to enhance social and economic investments in the country.
Since Mr. President is from this geopolitical zone, it would be respectful to appreciate him by voting for the APC,” Ganduje remarked.
He urged party members and supporters to mobilize efforts to ensure the party’s victory.
“In this geopolitical zone, we must work together to secure a win.
We are committed to creating an enabling environment to ensure the election is free, fair, and favorable to the APC,” Ganduje concluded.
