Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has issued a ban on the transportation of building materials from the state to neighboring countries across border communities.
The governor emphasized that the transfer of such materials across international borders has contributed to the increase in the prices of building materials.
He instructed all security agencies to enhance surveillance and prevent trucks from transporting any building materials to neighboring countries.

InfoStride News has reported that Adamawa State shares a significant border with Cameroon, and there is a widespread belief that commodities, including building materials like cement and roofing sheets, which are usually intended for markets in Adamawa, are instead diverted to Cameroon and other neighboring countries where dealers allegedly earn higher profits.
Governor Fintiri, through a press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, warned that the government would seize vehicles transporting such items across the border and prosecute offenders.
“Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who expressed concern over the activities of unpatriotic Nigerians, urged the public to assist security agencies in combating this menace,” the statement said.
