PDP candidate for the November 16 governorship polls in Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri has vowed to link Brass on the Atlantic shores of the state by road if he wins the election.
He made this vow when his campaign train reached the Brass Island in continuation of his campaign across the state ahead of the forthcoming election.
Senator Diri, however, urged supporters to ignore all kinds of distractions by the All Progressive Congress (APC), because the chances of the PDP is solely in their hands.
His words, “To keep Bayelsa on the path of progress in infrastructure development, healthcare delivery, education and capacity building, there is need to consolidate on the recorded success of the restoration administration of Governor Dickson.”
He pledged that when he is elected, he would make sure the Brass islands at the tip of the Atlantic Ocean would be connected by road and that the defunct technical college in Twon-Brass would be rebuilt and revived.
He also said he would create opportunities for women in the area to access free soft loans.
For the youths, Senator Douye said he would see to it that they acquire skills that will make them self-reliant.
