Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has come out to assure the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) of his administration’s continuous support in discharging and fulfilling its mandate in the state.
Represented by the Commissioner for Transport, Chief Matthias Ekweremadu, he said this as he declared open the 2019 Sectoral Workshop of FRSC Enugu State Sector Command Special Marshals held in Enugu.
The theme of the workshop is: “The FRSC Special Marshals: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”.
According to Gov Ugwuanyi, his government would enhance its partnership with the FRSC to make sure road accidents are a thing of the past.
His words, “We also want to partner the FRSC Regular and Special Marshals to ensure effective traffic control as we approach the yuletide.
“As it is well known, Enugu State remains the home of hospitality in the country.
“We expect increased vehicular traffic as visitors, tourists and people that want to have good time troop into the state in their thousands.”
“You should keep up the good work for humanity.”
The National Coordinator of FRSC Special Marshals, Mr Sini Kwabe also said, “We must find new and effective ways of performing better.
“The work you have volunteered for is a service to humanity and our fatherland as well as ensure that you make our roads safer and achieve the mandate of FRSC.”
