    Is This Alexis Sanchez’s Season?

Alexis SanchezAlexis Sanchez is set to join his Manchester United teammates on their summer tour, the club announced on Thursday, with sources saying the Chilean was granted a visa to travel to the United States.

Sanchez was not on the flight from Manchester to Los Angeles on Sunday after U.S. authorities blocked his trip because of a conviction for tax fraud he accepted in February, sources said. United confirmed it was due to a “personal administrative issue.”

But sources said Sanchez has now been granted a visa and the club confirmed he will travel to the United States this week, after the 29-year-old had been forced to train alone at Carrington while the rest of Jose Mourinho’s squad prepared for the new season at UCLA.

Sanchez is set to miss the first of five games in the U.S., against Club America in Phoenix on Thursday evening, but he should be available for the game against San Jose Earthquakes in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday.

His arrival will be a boost for Mourinho, who on Wednesday admitted concern about missing a host of first-team players following the World Cup.

Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku were among seven United players to make it to the final weekend of the tournament in Russia and are now set to miss the start of the Premier League season.

United kick off the new campaign against Leicester at Old Trafford on Aug. 10.
