The University of Ibadan Alumni Association will on June 11 confer the 2015 Alumnus of the Year Award – the Association’s highest honour – on Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
This is contained in a statement released to newsmen in Abuja on Monday by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Assistant Director Publicity, Mr Edegbe Odemwingie.
According to the statement, the APC Chairman is the first to be honoured by the University of Ibadan Alumni Association in this category.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Odigie-Oyegun is a 1963 graduate of the University, where he studied Economics.
The statement said former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, former Nigeria Permanent Representative to the UN, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, and a former governor of Abia State, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, are expected at the event.
