The Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the newly elected chairmen and councillors not to betray the trust of the people who voted for them.
InfoStride News recalls that the APC secured victory in all 23 local government areas (LGAs) and won the 255 councillorship positions across the state in the recent local government elections.
Meanwhile, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized the election process, alleging widespread irregularities and vowing to challenge the results in court.

In a statement issued by Salisu Tanko Wusono, the APC’s Publicity Secretary in Kaduna State, the party expressed confidence in the conduct of the elections.
Wusono commended the state government for creating an atmosphere conducive to free, fair, and transparent elections, despite alleged attempts by certain individuals to disrupt the process.
“As the closest tier of government to the people, we urge our newly elected representatives to remember that their primary responsibility is to serve the interests of the people,” the statement read.
Wusono further charged the newly elected officials to represent the party’s values of service, accountability, and development.
“The people of Kaduna have placed their trust in us, and we must live up to their expectations. Our local government chairmen and councillors must immediately begin addressing key challenges in healthcare, education, infrastructure, and security,” he added.
The APC also urged the officials to engage actively with their constituents, listen to their concerns, and work diligently to meet their needs.
“Leadership is not about power but service,” Wusono emphasized.
The APC extended gratitude to the electorate for their support, calling their votes a testament to belief in the party’s vision for a prosperous and united Kaduna State.
“We assure you that our commitment to your aspirations remains unwavering. Together, we can make significant progress, ensuring that the benefits of governance reach every corner of the state.”
Wusono reiterated that no person or community would be left behind, urging the new officials to prioritize the interests of the people of Kaduna State.
“As we celebrate, we must recognize that the road ahead will be rough. The people expect much from us, and we must not fail them,” the statement concluded.
