The rerun election in the Delta State House of Assembly, Ethiope-West Constituency, on Saturday, was characterized by a low turnout of voters in the various polling units and wards.
Media correspondent, who monitored the election, observed that the people of Oghara, Mosogar, and Jesse Communities were seen going about their normal businesses in Ethiope-West Local Government Area.
Despite the presence of security personnel and INEC ad-hoc staff at the various polling units and wards visited, there was significant voter apathy.

In an interview with our correspondent, the INEC Electoral Officer in Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Mrs. Beauty Ibiama, stated that sensitive election materials were distributed to the various polling stations as early as 6 a.m.
She noted that voting had commenced since 8:30 a.m.
Mrs. Ibiama explained that the people seen going about their businesses are in areas where elections did not hold.
She reported that INEC covered five wards, including Mosogar I&II, Jesse V, and Oghara I and II in the ongoing rerun election.
Mrs. Ibiama also confirmed that there have been no reported cases of ballot snatching or electoral violence, to the best of her knowledge, as far as the ongoing election is concerned.
As of the time of filing this report, the elections are yet to conclude.
