The Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, has presented two cutting-edge unmanned water vessels to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The hi-tech vessels, known as the S2 and S3 Swift Sea Stalkers, were donated to the Nigerian Government by the Swift Ship Company in the USA.
In a statement issued by the Director of Press, Information, and Public Relations, Henshaw Ogubike, the Minister emphasized that the unmanned vessels would significantly contribute to the fight against insecurity, particularly on Nigeria’s waterways and across the nation.

During the presentation, Minister Matawalle highlighted the importance of these vessels in addressing security challenges in the Niger Delta, Lake Chad Region, and other maritime areas of Nigeria.
Matawalle also underscored the potential of these vessels in enhancing the country’s military capabilities.
The minister informed President Tinubu that his recent visit to the USA included inspections of NEANY, Swift Ships, and OCR Global, renowned companies specializing in hi-tech military hardware production.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the donation of the unmanned vessels is a result of his efforts to promote innovative technologies that can bolster Nigeria’s security apparatus.
Furthermore, Minister Matawalle expressed his intention to foster partnerships with US companies for the local production of military hardware in collaboration with the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON).
He stressed that this initiative aligns with President Tinubu’s vision of strengthening the nation’s security infrastructure.
During his visit to the USA, Minister Matawalle inspected various cutting-edge military and intelligence hardware, including rapid deployment mobile RADAR systems, drone ground control stations, and compact biometric search-scan systems.
He assured President Tinubu that these capabilities would significantly enhance Nigeria’s security architecture.
The presentation of these hi-tech unmanned water vessels marks a significant step in Nigeria’s efforts to combat insecurity, demonstrating the government’s commitment to leveraging advanced technologies to safeguard the nation and its citizens.
