The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State has described as provocative, media reports linking former Borno state Governor, Senator Ali Modu Sherriff with allegations of a plan to remove governors of Yobe and Borno states.
In a statement signed by the state secretary of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Bakabe, the APC said “we still want to believe this is a mere speculation but yet, it is tantamount to over-heating the polity and creating political instability in the two states that have suffered long security challenges”.
The statement added that, “the claim to deliver Yobe state to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015 is wild, misleading and, intended to score cheap political relevance”.
It further advised “political tresspassers with evil intention of orchestrating political instability should stay away from our state”, saying that, “it is an insult on the psyche of the state and its people that a total stranger in the person of Modu Sherrif who has no political connection with Yobe state will determine the course of our political leadership and direction in 2015”.
