President Muhammadu Buhari has departed Abuja for his trip to Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire to participate in the 5th European Union-African Union (EU-AU) summit on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.
The president was accompanied by the National leader of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, Akwa Ibom governor, Udom Emmanuel, and Bauchi State governor, Mohammed Abubakar.
Before his departure, the president launched Nigeria’s National Action Plan for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism, and also met with Adamawa State governor, Jibrilla Bindow, and Borno State governor, Kashim Shettima.
Adesina’s statement read, “President Buhari will use the occasion of the summit to reiterate Nigeria’s readiness to work with African and European countries to address the challenges affecting both continents, such as peace and security.”
