Yemi Osinbajo’s wife, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo has cautioned human traffickers in Nigeria to stay away from such illegal trade because Nigerian children are not for sale.
Mrs. Dolapo reached out to the private sector to collaborate with the Federal Government to reduce human trafficking in Nigeria.
Mrs. Osinbajo said this yesterday in Abuja as she opened a re-modeled shelter of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other related matters, as part of the activities lined up for the 2019 World Day Against Human Trafficking.
Her words, “Our children are not for sale; they are precious and special to us. The sensitisation must go down to the grassroots in all our local languages so that people can easily understand the message and become less vulnerable.
“Sheltering is a key component in the fight against human trafficking. It provides stability and helps to ensure adequate reception for survivors.”
“The crime of human trafficking has become a global concern as it has recently been rated as the third largest illicit trade after arms and drugs’ smuggling. Therefore, the international community has realised the need to tame the ugly trend with a concerted approach.”
