The striking doctors in Osogbo, Osun State, have refuted claims that they cancelled the industrial action.
Folarin Olarewaju, chairman of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) said there is absolutely no truth in the statement by the Minister of of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige, that the association has suspended the strike.
Olanrewaju did confirm that the association indeed had a meeting with the government, but said no decision has been made regarding the strike.
He said the association will hold an emergency executive committee meeting where a decision will be made.
The resident doctors had earlier prmised to go on strike from September 4, if the federal government refuse to meet their demands.
