The Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has called on the Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to find lasting solutions to the recurring fuel scarcity in the country.
The union made this demand on Monday in response to the challenges faced by Nigerians due to the scarcity.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Comrade Ademola Babalola, and made available through the Secretary of the union, Comrade Olusola Oladapo, the NUJ condemned the lingering petrol scarcity in Ibadan and other parts of the state, noting the hardship experienced by citizens.
InfoStride News reported that the price of petrol reached between N700 and N820 per litre in parts of Ibadan, the state capital, on Monday, exacerbating the difficulties faced by Nigerians.
The NUJ chairman emphasized the need for urgent action to address the fuel scarcity, describing it as a major setback to the economic development of the state and the country at large.
