The youth wing of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, has rated President Bola Tinubu’s administration above average as it marks one year in office today, May 29.
The Igbo group made this assessment while also urging the President to dismiss any cabinet member not significantly contributing to the realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, commended President Tinubu’s efforts toward restoring the country’s economic fortunes.

“President Tinubu inherited a battered economy, and while it does not take rocket science to fix the country, his administration has shown capacity and passion to lead Nigeria on the path of progress,” Okwu stated.
He acknowledged the hardships faced by Nigerians due to certain government policies, including the fuel subsidy removal, which he described as an unavoidable measure inherited from the Buhari administration.
“We have seen how the government is steadily trying to revive the economy.
While total restoration will not happen overnight, we are optimistic that things will soon improve with the government’s determination,” he added.
Okwu praised the continuation of projects initiated by the previous administration, particularly road projects, and the initiation of new ones, describing this as critical to the country’s development.
“Our appeal to Nigerians is to fully cooperate with the government as President Tinubu and his team navigate the country out of the inherited quagmire.”
The Igbo youths urged President Tinubu to quickly reshuffle his cabinet by removing those whose actions do not align with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“There is no time to waste; we urge the President to assess the scorecards of his ministers and take firm decisions in the best interest of the country.
All those who have not recorded tangible achievements should be sacked,” Okwu asserted.
While commending the government for improved security, Okwu also urged more efforts toward securing agrarian communities to mitigate food inflation.
