The Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, has passed a vote-of-confidence on the leadership of Dr. Frederick Fasehun, saying there was no crisis in the organisation.
Fasehun is the founder and president of the OPC.
The group also dissociated itself from Fasehun’s purported expulsion by a group, which claimed to have appointed new leaders to run its affairs.
In a statement Sunday by its Publicity Secretary, Sylvester Eweka, the group described Fasehun’s purported removal as “a joke taken too far”, adding that he (Fasehun) remained the founder and substantive President of OPC worldwide.
The OPC, however, said plans at denigrating the leader was a concoction of troublemakers, who were bent on treading the path of perdition.
The group said the Fasehun-led OPC had in 2014, expelled leaders of the group, including: Dare Adesope (former Secretary), Alhaji Taofiq Adeyemi (Organising Secretary) and Olusola Ajayi Edward (Publicity Secretary).
