The Plateau State security outfit, known as Operation Rainbow, has refuted allegations that it is involved in aiding and abetting attacks in some communities within the state.
The Public Relations Officer of Operation Rainbow, Pan Dapar, issued a press statement in Jos to debunk the reports and clarify the outfit’s stance.
In the statement, Dapar addressed the recent breakdown of law and order in parts of Mangu Local Government Area, which resulted in the loss of lives, properties, and worship centers.
He described the allegations against Operation Rainbow as “false, malicious, and misleading,” emphasizing that the outfit remains committed to its mandate of ensuring security and order in the state.
Operation Rainbow highlighted its proactive response and timely intelligence gathering, which has contributed to the prevention of security challenges in Plateau State.
The outfit emphasized that its personnel are drawn from conventional security agencies within the state and operate with professionalism, without ethnic or religious bias, in fulfilling their duties of protecting lives and properties.
The statement urged the public to disregard the allegations and continue reporting any suspicious activities to security agencies for immediate action.
It also extended condolences to those affected by the recent attacks and called on residents to remain law-abiding during these challenging times.
Operation Rainbow’s response seeks to reassure the public of its commitment to maintaining peace and security in Plateau State, while also addressing the need for cooperation and vigilance from residents in ensuring a safe environment for all.
