The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced a revenue collection of N82 billion for the 2024 fiscal year. This marks a significant contribution to the nation’s economy, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to trade facilitation and revenue generation.
According to the Area Controller, the revenue was generated through import duties, excise duties, and other statutory charges. The command also intensified efforts to curb smuggling activities along its borders, ensuring that illicit trade does not undermine government revenue.
The Customs leadership attributed the achievement to improved operational strategies, enhanced compliance measures, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Increased use of technology and stricter monitoring of trade activities have also played a role in boosting revenue collection.

In addition to revenue generation, the command seized various contraband items, including foreign rice, used vehicles, and other prohibited goods, as part of its ongoing enforcement operations. Officers have been urged to remain vigilant and uphold the service’s mandate to facilitate legitimate trade while preventing economic sabotage.
As the year progresses, the Oyo/Osun Customs Command aims to surpass its current revenue target by further improving efficiency and strengthening its anti-smuggling operations. The agency continues to encourage traders and importers to comply with regulations to avoid penalties and ensure seamless trade activities.
