Philanthropist Jason Hope Supports the Efforts of SENS Research Foundation

SCOTTSDALE, AZ–(Marketwired – Jul 2, 2014) – Registration is now open to the annual Rejuvenation Biotechnology Conference hosted by the SENS Research Foundation at the Santa Clara Hyatt Regency Hotel in Santa Clara, California between August 21 and 23, 2014. This year’s topic is “Emerging Regenerative Medicine Solutions for the Diseases of Aging” and offers a platform for leaders and experts from the fields of Alzheimer’s, cancer, cardio-vascular and other age-related diseases to talk about potential prevention opportunities to fight diseases that come with age. More than 50 speakers from academia, industry, government and the financial community will share their wisdom with attending guests. The SENS Research Foundation is an outreach organization that focuses on scientific research, advocacy and education with the goal of curing age-related diseases. “SENS” is the abbreviation for “Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence”, a term that was first coined by British bio-gerontologist Aubrey de Grey to describe the diverse range of regenerative medical therapies, either planned or currently in development, and is known today as a research and advocacy program that aims to develop a cure for aging. The SENS Research Foundation is a charitable organization, which is supported by a number of prominent philanthropists and renowned researchers. One of the foundation’s biggest supporters in recent years has been Arizona-based entrepreneur Jason Hope, who has not only made generous donations, but is actively involved in SENS’ outreach efforts.

Back in 2010, Jason Hope pledged half a million dollars to the SENS foundation, an invaluable donation which was used for the establishment of the Cambridge SENS laboratory and the implementation of a new research program which aims to break down advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) in human tissue. And last December, Hope partnered with Fight Aging to match the foundation’s donations with matching each dollar with two dollars from his fund for donations up to $15,000. “I believe the work of the SENS Foundation is essential to the advancement of human medicine and their approach to the overall problem of human aging and its associated diseases is the only way to go. Jason Hope is an Arizona native who was born and raised in Tempe. Hope received a degree in finance from Arizona State University, and an MBA from W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
