Ex Tottenham defender, Serge Aurier has come out to say that he feels sad for the way Mauricio Pochettino has struggled to take Paris Saint-Germain to the next level. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, he doesn’t believe the Argentine should shoulder all the blame for the frustrations at the French club, and he still feels Poch has what it takes to help PSG.
Aurier added that he was really happy when Pochettino was approached by Paris, and he hopes for things to improve for his ex-manager.
His words, “I’m very sad,”
“He’s someone I learned a lot from. I know the person. I’m disappointed with the way things are going.”
“I was really happy when he was approached by Paris. From what I learned and what I saw, I knew he had the soul to give this team what was missing.”
“Unfortunately, it hasn’t always gone well since he’s there. I think it’s not just his fault.”
“It’s caring about the beautiful game, about the values that we hold dear, about this stuff that goes into our body, into every cell of our body.”
“We care, we worry, we are desperate, but when you come here, this theatre of dreams, we realise what it means.”
“I think he failed to do what he did with us at Tottenham,”
“It’s true that it is not the same style of players. Knowing him, his game plan has always been good – [it] brought us to the Champions League final.”
“There are a lot of internal problems that he can’t manage. It hurts me a little for him. I hope in any case that he will continue until the end of the season, [and then] we will see what will happen.”
