Dmitry Medvedev, an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, criticized United States President Joe Biden, calling him a “mad” disgrace to the US and stating that he had no right to compare himself to Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Medvedev’s comments came in response to Biden’s State of the Union address, in which Biden referenced Roosevelt’s 1941 speech to Congress about facing an unprecedented turning point in history.
Medvedev accused Biden of being mentally disabled and intent on dragging humanity to hell, contrasting him with Roosevelt, whom he praised for leading America out of the Great Depression.

He also accused Biden of actively trying to start World War III and of fighting for fascists, in stark contrast to Roosevelt’s efforts against fascism.
Medvedev, who previously portrayed himself as a liberal modernizer during his presidency from 2008-2012, now presents himself as an anti-Western Kremlin hawk.
His comments reflect the ongoing tensions between Russia and the United States, particularly regarding Biden’s recent characterization of Russian President Putin as a “crazy SOB” and accusations of Trump kowtowing to Russia.
