The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, has lauded relations between the emirate and the government and people of Yobe State, saying the Kano emirate appreciates the support and prayers of people of the northeastern state.
The emir made the remarks yesterday when he played host to the Yobe State governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, who visited the palace to felicitate with him on his coronation as the 14th emir of Kano at the weekend.
Emir Sanusi recalled the long standing personal relationship with Governor Gaidam, saying when he was appointed emir, the governor was the first among states’ chief executives in the country to visit and congratulate him and also the first to visit the palace to celebrate with him after his coronation.
The monarch also expressed appreciation to the governor for his effort at restoring peace in his state and his mobilisation drive to ensure that Yobe people continue to offer prayers and support for peace and stability.
Earlier, Gaidam congratulated Sanusi on his coronation and prayed Almighty God to grant him long life and good health as he leads the Kano emirate to greater heights.
