Shehu Sani, who once represented the Kaduna Central Senatorial District, has asked the Senators of the 10th Assembly to reject Malam Nasir El-Rufai’s confirmation as Minister. El-Rufai was the governor of Kaduna State.
Former congressman expressed amazement on Sunday in a message to journalists that El-Rufai’s name appeared on the list of ministerial nominees despite his clear religious coloring, which poses a threat to national unity.
For the sake of the nation’s future, he urged the three senators from Kaduna State to stand tall in honor and oppose the confirmation and approval of the former governor.
El-Rufai was disqualified from holding public office by the Senator Abubakar Sodangi Committee, and Senator Sani urged his colleagues to uphold that decision.
In 2008, the Senator Sodangi Committee disqualified him from holding public office, and the statement called for his disqualification to be upheld and respected by the Senate.
In particular, the three senators from Kaduna State should reject Elrufai’s candidacy without qualification or qualification.
The people of Kaduna State have been oppressed and mistreated for eight years; remaining silent would be a terrible betrayal.
Nigerian senators should protect the country from having such a dangerous individual nurtured and crowned as president.
A guy with a history of religious intolerance, radicalism, and contempt for the rule of law does not deserve the legislative gavel of approval. No minister should have to put up with him.
If a senator from the opposition votes to confirm El-Rufai, they will betray the moral conscience of the people of this country. If a senator from the ruling party votes to affirm El-Rufai, they will have introduced a destructive agent into the government of Tinubu.
Elrufai’s confirmation as a minister would be a fatal mistake for the Tinubu government.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent 28 ministry nominees to the Senate, and confirmation hearings are slated to begin on Monday.
