“The Present Administration of President Jonathan has reiterated its determination to remain focused and to ensure that the dividends of democracy are impacted on every Nigerian citizen home and abroad.”
These were statements credited to the Minister of State for Defence, Senator Muhammed Musiliu Obanikoro when he visited the Nyanya bomb victims at the Asokoro District Hospital, Abuja, to encourage and wish them quick recovery.
Senator Obanikoro further emphasized that this very unpleasant incident should further spur us all to be more determined and focused to support the Government and all security officials: “This, we can do by volunteering important information about any questionable movement or persons around any environment we may be at any time. We should all try and be security conscious so that we can overcome this present challenge.”
Earlier, the Chief Medical Director of Asokoro District Hospital, Dr. Amadu Abubakar, commended the Minister of State for Defence for his visit. He said, the victims are doing well and are responding to treatment. He also said there were twenty-six patients brought to the hospital, two were referred for attention, one has been discharged, while twenty-three are still being treated.
The victims expressed appreciation to God for sparing their lives, despite the fact that they lost their cars and other valuables in the incident. They were also glad to have the Minister of State for Defence, Senator Obanikoro visit them in the hospital.
