NEW YORK, NY–(Marketwired – Apr 4, 2014) – SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB: SMME), the developer of fingerprint activated biometric cards, says that in SmartMetric’s ongoing patent infringement case brought by SmartMetric against both Visa Inc. and MasterCard International the company has filed its closing brief in the case and that it is now before the United States Federal Circuit Court.
The company is awaiting word from the Court on scheduling of a hearing of this matter that is now expected to take place around the first week of June 2014.
SmartMetric is eagerly awaiting the hearing of this case before the United States Federal Circuit Court and is highly confident of a successful outcome for the company based on the strength of its arguments presented to the Court. The company has faith in the legal system in protecting the rights of the inventor and believes that the Court will find in its favor. “Battling two giant companies has not been an easy task but that is why we have patent laws in order to protect the small inventor against the market dominance of those who would otherwise dismiss any rightful claim of inventors,” said SmartMetric’s President & CEO, Chaya Hendrick.
