Job Description:
• To provide strong support to client, acquire, grow and deepen SME Banking client relationships through effective relationship management, with special focus on SME clients’ total financial needs.
• Provide support to Relationship Managers and team in managing the portfolio of relationships.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Sales and Relationship Management
• Drive client limit utilization and expand existing client relationships through pro-active contact, account planning, wallet sizing, and effective pipeline management.
• Answer client enquiries and address complaints either by directly following up on issues or referring them to the appropriate parties. Own the problems/issues and ensure that they are resolved satisfactorily.
Risk and Credit Monitoring:
• Monitoring and seeking approval for excesses and put up temp limit application, if required. Review daily past due, excess re3ports, in-put action taken in these reports, and follow up with customers on the past due/excesses. Escalate to RM/segment head if necessary.
• Releasing of remittances and obtaining signature verification and seeking approval for excesses under Rapid Cash system.
• Assist in handling cheque clearance and rejection, IMEX offerings and obtain approvals as necessary.
• Assist in review planning and proactively chase customers for documents-financial statements, stock and debtor lists, insurance reports, valuation reports, etc (as required by RM).
• Assist Relationship Managers to obtain bank risk approval for SBLCs held as security.
• Conduct annual reviews (minimum 6 to 8 reviews per month).
Compliance:
• Seek extensions/waivers for compliance and covenants in BCA.
• Put up memo for those one-off covenants e.g. analysis financials and debtor’s aging.
• Seek extensions/waivers for documents etc. for SCC/DDN/partial SCC cases.
• Monitor and follow up on the RM for outstanding call reports and update SME operations accordingly.
• Put up review extensions on a timely basis.
• Follow up on amendments on BCA as required by Credit Operations to facilitate issuance of SCC.
Administration:
• Help with all ad hoc reporting (eg. sales pipelines)/projects/ events required both onshore and offshore.
• Assist RMs in preparation of preferential pricing/waiver forms/BCA.
Qualifications & Skills:
• University Degree in a relevant discipline or Relevant Professional Qualification
• Good knowledge and exposure to SMEs in Nigeria.
• Strong Communication and people management skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
In compliance with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Act of 2004, all applicants should ensure that they have completed the mandatory NYSC programme.
