Vehicle owners in Lagos State has been warned to stop the habit of patronizing touts and unlicensed individuals for the registration or renewal of vehicle documents or application for driver’s license.
Speaking during a radio interview recently, the General Manager of Lagos State Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA), Mr. Lateef Lawal stated that the Agency remains the first and last point of call for all intending applicants for vehicle documentation in the State.
According to Lawal, the process for the collection of a fresh driver’s license commences with the enrolment of the applicant at any of the accredited driving schools and subsequent submission of the applicants’ personal details along with results of the driving tests online via the Federal Road Saftey Corps portal.
He stated that applicants are also expected to visit any office of the MVAA with printed copies of the application submitted online to take digital photographs and submit biometric data for processing of their drivers’ license.
The General Manager revealed that permanent drivers’ licenses are processed by MVAA within 60days, adding, however, that temporary ones are issued immediately an applicant completes the documentation process with the Agency.
He, however, appealed to those who have applied and had completed their documentation to come for their permanent drivers’ licenses as there is a backlog of unclaimed licenses at the various MVAA stations.
Lawal reiterated that the processing fee remains N6,350 for licenses with three-year validity period and N10,350 for the five-year option, both inclusive of bank charges. (LASG)
