Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has criticised Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde over his recent physical demonstration at a political gathering, accusing him of disrespecting President Bola Tinubu.
Igboho warned that he would verbally attack anyone who insulted the President, insisting that political disagreements should not be used as an excuse to ridicule an elderly person.

The activist made the remarks in a viral video on Sunday, describing Makinde’s action of jumping off a stage as childish and disrespectful.
“He was jumping around like a frog and a mad man, insulting Tinubu, saying Tinubu can’t jump like him as if Tinubu doesn’t have a father,” Igboho said.
He added, “If you insult Tinubu, I will insult you back.”
Igboho further cautioned Makinde against mocking the President, arguing that respect for older people should be maintained irrespective of political differences.
The controversy followed Makinde’s appearance at the South-West presidential campaign town hall meeting of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Thursday.
During the gathering, Makinde jumped down from the stage to demonstrate his physical stamina and challenged other presidential candidates to do the same.
The governor, who is contesting the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the APM, said the election should focus on candidates’ energy and ability to handle the demands of leadership rather than their age.
“When they bring their own presidential candidate, let the candidate come here and also jump down. If they can do that, vote for them,” Makinde told supporters.
Although the governor did not mention Tinubu by name during the demonstration, his comments were widely interpreted as a reference to the President’s age and physical fitness.
Igboho’s reaction has added another dimension to the political exchanges surrounding the 2027 presidential race, with public figures expressing contrasting views over the use of age and physical stamina in assessing political leaders.
