Taraba APC Denies Expelling 90 Members

APC-Logo1Alhaji Hassan Ardo, the Taraba State Chairman of the All Prograssives Congress, has denied allegations that the party had expelled 90 of its members.

Ardo made the denial at a news briefing on Wednesday in Jalingo.

He, however, said the Karim-Lamido Local Government chapter of the party had made allegations against some of its members and that the party had set up a committee to look into the issues.

The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that a faction known as APC Concerned Members in the state, had on Monday in Jalingo told newsmen that it did not recognise Ardo as the chairman of the party in the state.

Led by Alhaji Yau Samila, the group also rejected the party’s governorship candidate in the state, Sen. Aisha Al-Alhassan on the grounds that the APC constitution was not followed in their emergence.

But Ardo said the party had followed all the laid down guidelines in conducting its congresses and primaries during which the party officials and flag bearers emerged.

He called on aggrieved members of the party to join hands with him to ensure the party’s victory during the February elections.

“I want to call on all members of the party to bury their differences and join hands with the state working committee of the party to ensure our victory at the forthcoming elections”, he said.
