It was announced on Friday by Vice President Kashim Shettima that 1,000 new homes would be built in the states of Sokoto, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kebbi, Katsina, Niger, and Benue thanks to funding from President Bola Tinubu.
This was announced in a press release by the Vice President’s Office Director of Information, Mr. Olusola Abiola.
The statement claims that Shettima hinted towards the launch of projects completed by the Borno State Government in the past 100 days.
The Vice President elaborated that the construction of homes was part of a larger federal initiative to resolve tensions in the region’s north.
Shettima added that Tinubu had given N50 billion to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to launch the non-violent Pulaku program to help the people of the Northwest cope with the situation.
For the Fulani people living in Kaduna and Benue states, President Tinubu has given the green light to build a thousand homes in the states of Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger, and Benue, complete with schools, medical clinics, veterinary hospitals, and ranches.
The Vice President stated, “President Tinubu insisted that all the victims must be carried along.”
He went on to say that the President’s development efforts would help every region of the country.
