INEC National Electoral Commissioner, Festus Okoye has told Benue State residents to relax, because the commission would do all it can to keep maintaining its neutral status in all it does.
Okoye revealed this today in Makurdi while addressing a news conference ahead of Saturdays supplementary elections.
He said INEC will not change from being neutral so the people of the state can have the chance to decide on the leader they want.
He disclosed that the commission was ready to conduct free, fair and credible polls, because they cannot afford to fail or disappoint Nigerians.
His words, “We want to conduct elections in such a manner that both the winners and losers will accept its outcome.”
He also spoke about serious concerns over the rate of insecurity during elections, asking that security agencies should increase efforts in order to battle it and make everywhere safe.
