300x352xPROF-WOLE-SOYINKA2.jpg.pagespeed.ic_.s4GXAnRY-cNigerians have called on Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka to tear his US green card following the emergence of Donald Trump as America’s 45th president.

Trump defeated former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton in the polls which officially commenced on Tuesday, November 8.

Soyinka had earlier said that he would cut up the green card and leave the US if Trump emerged winner of the polls.

“If in the unlikely event he does win, the first thing he’ll do is to say [that] all green-card holders must reapply to come back into the US. Well, I’m not waiting for that,” Soyinka said.

“The moment they announce his victory, I will cut my green card myself and start packing up,” he added.
