The Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Boni Haruna has joined several other well meaning Nigerians to condemn in strong terms, last Tuesday’s bomb blast in Nyanya, FCT, which led to the death of about 75 people and injury to many others.
The Minister noted that the unfortunate incident which is a dastardly attack against innocent and defenseless citizens is a setback which requires the condemnation of all Nigerians.
He said that President Goodluck Jonathan is more than ever committed in fighting the war on terror and other violent acts of criminality presently facing the country.
Mr. Boni Haruna therefore called on all youths to resist any attempt to be recruited to foment any violent acts and implored them to re-channel their energies to more creative ventures capable of contributing to our national development.
Similarly, the Minister reiterated the commitment of President Goodluck Jonathan to the alleviation of the plight of our unemployed youths across the country through known programmes and projects.
The Minister went further to assure all youths that his Ministry would not relent in tackling all the problems facing the youth. He expressed the wish that all youths would know that the Ministry is working assiduously on a draft Bill for the establishment of a National Youth Development Fund which seeks to provide fund for the youths to create jobs and wealth for Nigeria.
Boni Haruna expressed sorrow at the death of those victims and condoles their families.
