No fewer than 10 vigilantes have been killed following an attack by armed men in Damri town, Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The incident was disclosed in a post shared on X on Wednesday by security analyst, Bakatsine.
According to the post, the armed men stormed the community and engaged members of the local vigilante group who were attempting to protect residents.

The confrontation reportedly resulted in a deadly exchange, leaving 10 vigilantes dead.
“Ten vigilantes were killed yesterday in Damri town, Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State, during an attack by armed men.
“The incident is part of the worsening violence between armed groups and local community defence forces, which continues to affect rural areas across the region.
“With repeated killings and growing insecurity, how much longer can civilians survive without effective protection from the authorities?” Bakatsine wrote.
The latest incident adds to growing concerns over insecurity and recurring attacks in rural communities across Zamfara State and other parts of the North-West region.
