The Motor Vehicle Administration of the U.S. state of Maryland now offers drivers’ permit tests, vehicle registration, and study materials in Yoruba.
Yorùbá was one of the largest non-English languages spoken in the state, therefore it was added based on the most recent data from the United States Census.
The Yoruba language test for the Maryland learner’s permit will be available beginning in September.

A breakthrough that is not even accessible in Nigeria, home to the highest number of native Yoruba speakers.
The announcement is one of many new programs being launched around the state to accommodate the state’s rapidly expanding and increasingly diversified population.
