Julian Alvarez has never been used in his right position under Diego Simeone, former coach Hugo Rafael Varas has said. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, he sees Alvarez leaving Atletico Madrid in the near future unless there is a managerial change in the coming months.

Hugo added that he sees the Argentine striker at a club like Barcelona if the La Liga club can cough out the money for him.
His words, “I don’t see him comfortable at Atletico. I think he’s played a lot of games on the wing, he’s never played in the position he should be playing. I know he’s told his family that he’s focused on the team, he plans to play and do well, and his goal is to continue being the national team’s No. 9.
Today, Atletico is a team that defends a lot and attacks little. I see him more as a passer than a finisher. He’s scoring goals from free kicks or outside the box. The team isn’t getting much forward for Julian to be the No. 9 he scored goals for River.
I think there will be a change at some point, either of the manager or the manager himself. Someone just told me he should go to Barcelona, and the truth is he’s not at Barcelona because he didn’t put in the money he should have.
He would leave because he’s always been a Barcelona fan. I’d like him to play for Real Madrid.”
WOW.
Futbol Club Barcelona is a professional football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, that competes in La Liga, the top flight of Spanish football.
Founded in 1899 by a group of Swiss, Catalan, German, and English footballers led by Joan Gamper, the club has become a symbol of Catalan culture and Catalanism, hence the motto “Més que un club” (“More than a club”). Unlike many other football clubs, the supporters own and operate Barcelona. It is the third-most valuable sports team in the world, worth $5.51 billion, and the world’s fourth richest football club in terms of revenue, with an annual turnover of €582.1 million.
The official Barcelona anthem is the “Cant del Barça”, written by Jaume Picas and Josep Maria Espinàs. Barcelona traditionally play in dark shades of blue and garnet stripes, hence nicknamed Blaugrana.
In March 2021, Lionel Messi overtook Xavi’s record of 767 games played for the club, and presently has made 778 official appearances in all competitions, while also holding the record for the most appearances in La Liga matches for Barcelona, with 520.
