Former Edo State Governor and Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has dismissed the chances of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, winning the 2027 presidential election.
His comment follows growing speculation that both opposition leaders may run on a joint ticket under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Speaking on Sunday Politics, a Channels Television programme, Oshiomhole said both Atiku and Obi have a consistent record of electoral defeat and would suffer the same fate again if they join forces against President Bola Tinubu.

“Did Atiku and Obi not run together before and contested against APC? You can throw any number you want, but the point is that when these two ran together, they were loudly defeated by APC. So why are you suggesting that if they run again, the outcome will be different?” Oshiomhole asked.
He continued: “They have a history of being defeated together and a history of being defeated apart.
They ran together — they were defeated. They ran separately — they were defeated. If they come back together, very good. They will still be defeated.”
