Hundreds of people from four villages near the devastated Borno town of Baga, have been forced to flee after a warning from Boko Haram militants, community leaders said on Tuesday. Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has urged oil marketers to comply with the new pump price of petrol, which is N87 per litre. In a statement by its President, Igwe Achese, NUPENG noted that most of the filling stations were still dispensing fuel at the old rate of N97 per litre or not selling fuel at all. “It amounts to total disservice for the oil marketers to continue to sell fuel at the old rate, thus exploiting the consumers,” Achese said. Controversial Assistant Inspector of Police (AIG), Joseph Mbu has been redeployed by the Nigerian Police to Zone 2, which comprise Lagos and Ogun. The Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, on Tuesday, gave the order, which is to be effective immediately. 27 other AIGs were redeployed.
