The Court of Appeal, Makurdi Division, on Wednesday dismissed the appeal filed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State during the last elections, Terhemen Tarzoor, challenging the judgment of the Justice Elizabeth Karatu led governorship Elections Petition Tribunal in Makurdi. Mr Abdullahi Muhammadu, Commandant-General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has ordered the deployment of 5,000 personnel and sniffer dogs for the Kogi governorship election. Power supplied to electricity distribution companies (DisCos) from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) last Sunday dropped to 3,682 megawatts (Mw), this is according to power statistics posted on the website of the Federal Ministry of Power on Tuesday. The power statistics showed that the TCN shed 372Mw from the 4,054.07Mw of November 11. No fewer than than 30 people were killed on Tuesday when a bomb blast hit packed crowds in Yola, northeast Nigeria, just days after President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB) visited and declared that Boko Haram were close to defeat.
