The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has arrested two personnel from its Seme Command over their alleged involvement in the assault of two civilians, as seen in a recent viral video.
Comptroller Kayode Kolade, the Comptroller of the Seme Area Command, disclosed this on Tuesday during a press briefing in Seme.
He stated that the officers were apprehended following a preliminary investigation into the incident.

The viral video, which surfaced on Sunday, showed two residents being brutalized by Customs officers at a checkpoint along the Badagry-Seme expressway.
The victims were reportedly attacked after being caught recording a video at the checkpoint. The officers allegedly suspected them of being informants supplying journalists with information about smuggling activities in the area.
The Seme Command had announced on Monday that an investigation into the incident was underway.
Providing an update, Comptroller Kolade confirmed that the arrested officers would be handed over to the Customs Police Unit for further investigation.
“The behaviour of these officers does not reflect the professional practices of the service, especially now that the Service is committed to holding its officers to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism,” Kolade said.
He added that the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, has strongly condemned the officers’ actions.
“The Comptroller General has directed that the officers be taken to the NCS Headquarters for a full-scale investigation and decisive disciplinary measures,” Kolade stated.
The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, with many calling for stricter enforcement of ethical conduct among security personnel.
