Officers from the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 17 individuals suspected of engaging in online fraudulent activities on Tuesday, 29th August 2023, at various locations within Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The arrests took place following a meticulously planned sting operation, prompted by a series of intelligence reports that had linked the apprehended individuals to a spectrum of cybercriminal endeavours.
Among the seized possessions were advanced mobile devices, a television, a crimson Toyota Camry LE vehicle, an ebony Honda car, and a pair of Lexus cars.
Upon the completion of the ongoing investigations, the suspects will face charges in a court of law.
