Rivers State Governor (NGF), Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, says the people of Emohua Local Government Area will not go back to the political wilderness they found themselves before he assumed office as Governor. He further said his administration will never forget the high level of political support it has continued to receive from the people of the area for the past seven years. Governor Amaechi said this yesterday when citizens of Emohua community paid him a solidarity visit in Government House, Port Harcourt.
Represented by his deputy, Engr. Tele Ikuru, Governor Amaechi stated that “Emohua is one community that has continued to support this administration in ensuring peace and security of lives and properties in the State at the grassroots.
He charged them to sustain their support for the All Progressive Congress (APC), and continue to follow the footsteps of Chief Andrew Uchendu, as their rightful leader, adding that they should “follow the man that would lead you to victory always,” assuring that his administration will not let them go back to wilderness of pain again.
Earlier, the member representing Ikwerre/Emohua federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Andrew Uchendu, reiterated the support of his people for Governor Amaechi, noting that Emohua community, comprising of eight villages, has in the past seven years continued to feel positive impact of his administration in diverse areas.
Speaking, State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, thanked the people of Emohua for the continued support for Governor Amaechi and the APC, urging them not to waiver and assured that the party will win all the elective positions from local government to federal level come 2015.
Also speaking, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Mr. Godstime Orluku, expressed appreciation to Governor Amaechi for ensuring that the people of the area continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy, assuring that they will queue behind their leaders, Chief Andrew Uchendu, the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Emmanuel Chinda, and others to mobilize overwhelming support for the Governor and the party.
In his address, the Nye Nwe-Eli Emohua Nu Eriri (Paramount Ruler) of Emohua Clan, His Royal Majesty, Eze-Oha Vincent Okor, said they were in Government House to thank Governor Amaechi for positively impacting the political careers of some of their eminent sons and daughters, and also appreciate his administration’s policies and programmes that have effected positive changes across the State, assuring him that the Emohua clan is solidly behind his administration.
He further appealed to the Governor to actualize his promise of elevating the Emohua Chieftaincy stool to a first class status and also resurface the 3km Rumuakunde-Rumuche road, Elibrada-Oduoha Road, East/West Isiodu Road and Rumuche-Rumuohia road, respectively.
