Segun Adewale, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former chairman of the party in Lagos State, has announced his departure from the PDP to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adewale made the announcement during a news conference in Lagos on Saturday.
His decision follows an indefinite suspension from the PDP in Alimosho Local Government Area, where he was accused of causing disaffection within the party and tarnishing its image.

Before his suspension, Adewale had criticized the PDP for its inability to win elections in Lagos State since 1999, attributing the failures to corruption and disunity among party members.
“I am not contesting an election in 2027 but going to the ruling party to support the president.
My next move is to go to Abuja and prostrate to Tinubu,” Adewale stated at the news conference.
Addressing his suspension, Adewale claimed it was orchestrated by those opposing him for exposing mismanagement of campaign funds during the 2023 election.
He added that the suspension had no impact, as his ward continued to have absolute confidence in him and had distanced itself from the reported suspension.
