The State Working Committee (SWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State has declared its readiness to participate in the forthcoming general elections in line with the revised timetable and schedule of activities released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a press statement issued by the party’s spokesperson, Lancelot Obiaku, the PDP said it remains committed to prosecuting the 2027 elections and emerging victorious, in compliance with directives from the party’s National Caretaker Working Committee (NCWC).

The statement expressed confidence that the NCWC is taking necessary steps to resolve internal disputes and pending litigations ahead of the period allotted for political parties to conduct their primaries.
According to the party, it stands firm and fully prepared to meet all constitutional and regulatory requirements within the stipulated timelines.
It further disclosed that preparations for the all-inclusive National Convention scheduled to hold in Abuja on March 28 and 29, 2026, have intensified, with the Imo delegation expressing readiness to participate.
The party noted that the convention would help restore stability and strengthen the PDP ahead of future electoral contests.
The statement urged intending aspirants to remain calm and focused while awaiting further directives from the leadership of the party.
It added that the SWC, led by Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, reassured residents of Imo State of the PDP’s commitment to providing credible opposition and offering reliable leadership alternatives aimed at promoting good governance, accountability, security, peace and sustainable development.
