The Senate has passed the intestate Succession Bill, 2004. The Bill which was presented by Senator Olugbenga Obadara from Ogun Central passed first reading on the floor of the Senate.
Other bills that passed first reading are Employment Services Bill, 2014; Nigerian Urban and Regional Planning Act presented by Senator Gbenga Ashafa; Nigerian Export Promotion Council Act; Employees Compensation Act; Nigerian Film Corporation Act; Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative Act, presented by Senator Ahmad Lawan; and Crime and Criminal Tracking System Bill presented by Senator Victor Ndoma Egba.
The Senate also desolved into the Committee of the Whole to consider the report of the Committee on Establishment and Public Service and approved the appointment of Dr. Jonah Madugu as a member of the Federal Civil Service Commission.
A Bill for an Act to establish the National Commission for Conciliation and Arbitration; National Labour Council, the Office of the Registrar of Trade Unions etc to administer the provisions of Labour Laws in Nigeria and for matters connected therewith, 2014, passed second reading.
